Langley Animal Protection Society

Township Of Langley By-Election - October 25, 2025

At LAPS, we know that animals are an important part of our families and our daily lives. The human–animal bond is powerful—it brings comfort, companionship, and joy, and strengthens the fabric of our community.

What impacts people, impacts pets too. The challenges families face—such as housing, cost of living, or health—can directly affect the animals in their care. Likewise, when communities thrive, so do the animals who share our homes and our lives. Recognizing this link reminds us that caring for animals is also about caring for people and building a stronger community for all.

When voting in an election, it’s important to choose candidates who share your values—including how animals are cared for and supported in our community.

For the upcoming Township of Langley by-election, LAPS will be reaching out to all candidates and inviting them to share who they are and their views on animals, animal welfare, and the role of companion animals in our lives.

As candidates respond, their statements will be posted here in no particular order for you to review.

LAPS is a non-partisan organization, but many of our staff live, work, and play in the Township of Langley. We care deeply about ensuring that the welfare of animals, the human–animal bond, and the connection between people and pets remain top of mind for all who serve in local government.

Your voice matters, and so does your vote. We encourage you to learn about the candidates and consider how their values align with your own when it comes to animals and our community.
