LAPS kindly suggests taking the time to carefully read and consider all details before making the decision to adopt a pet.
Whiskey is a 6.5 year old Bernese/Great Pyrenees and he is healthy and happy. Day to day he is a pretty chill dog, he likes to sleep on the couch or lay outside. He is happy to go for a truck ride or a walk(although not for that long). Probably 4 days a week I take him to a doggy daycare and he absolutely loves it there. There are dozens of different dogs and he has never had a single problem there. He is a very happy-go-lucky kind of dog but he does get defensive when it comes to people coming onto my property, the pyrenees guard dog DNA is definitely in there.
Where Whiskey really would do well would be on a farm or acreage where he can wander around and bark and ideally have another couple dogs there with him. Unless it was with someone who is around 24/7 he is not much of a suburbs dog.
Not good with cats as he does chase them.
Not good with kids, sometimes he is fine but a few times he's gotten agitated and he will get barking and aggressive so I just can't trust him around kids off leash now.
