Meet Jack (8 Years Old) PRIVATE ADOPTION BY OWNER

Meet Jack!

Jack is an 8 year old, 60lb, neutered lab mix in good health. He loves people, but due to an unfortunate history with other dogs (he’s been attacked twice), it is probably best that he is in a home with no other pets. He does get along with other dogs on occasion (he likes my parent’s dogs and does fine at doggie daycare), but has no experience with other pets, and would genuinely do best being the only animal in the home. Based on our recent experience, Jack should also not be around babies or toddlers – they cause him an immense amount of anxiety, which is showing as aggression, currently limited to growling and baring teeth. He has limited experience around older children, but would most likely be okay with them if they understood his cues and boundaries.
He’s not a snuggly dog, but he will follow you from room to room and keep you company. Despite being 8 years old, he is still fairly high energy, and would do well with room to play or regular, consistent walks. He does struggle with being on a leash, but with some treats and consistent positive reinforcement, he does much better. He is housetrained and is trained to ask to go outside, and knows basic commands as well as a few tricks. He is also a great traveler, as we’ve done several lengthy drives with him with absolutely no issue. He loves to play ball, but is terrible at bringing it back to you, and is an expert nose print painter – your windows will be adorned with beautiful artwork. He does bark quite a bit, usually at things outside the house or the doorbell, but is usually quiet and sweet.
