Training Facility
LAPS Training and Boarding Centre
The LAPS Training and Boarding Centre is a unique partnership between the Langley Animal Protection Society and the Fraser Valley Institution which is dedicated to improving the lives of stray and abandoned dogs.
What is the Fraser Valley Institution?
Fraser Valley Institution is a correctional facility for women under the jurisdiction of the Correctional Service of Canada.
What is the LAPS FVI Program?
Under the leadership of a professional dog trainer, we provide training, grooming, daycare and boarding services for all types of dogs. Each dog is assigned an individual female trainer who provides one-on-one interaction through play, exercise and training. The women gain self-worth and learn responsibility and life skills. The animals get loving and caring attention and intense obedience training.
Who is the program for?
We offer all services to the general public as well as to dogs with special needs from the LAPS shelter. LAPS dogs receive 3 to 6 weeks of intensive obedience training and socializing, as well as house training in home-like settings.
We are committed to providing positive training and low stress housing for problem dogs from the LAPS shelter, thereby improving their chances of finding permanent, loving homes in the community.
