Kitten Foster Home

Kitten season is the busiest time of year for shelter staff. LAPS will be flooded with kittens from March to October and we need foster homes to help us out. Kitten foster families can foster moms with kittens, orphaned kittens who need to be bottle fed, or weaned kittens who eat solid food.

Foster homes must have a room where they can isolate the moms and kittens and it is important that all cats in your home are up to date on their vaccinations. Kittens usually stay in their foster homes for about a month. We rely on the foster families to make sure they get lots of attention and are exposed to different people. Once they are spayed or neutered, they come back to the shelter and go up for adoption.

Foster families need to fill out an application to foster and upon approval, attend our foster parent seminar. The main caregiver must be at least 21 years of age.
