Q: Are you open 7 days a week?
A: Yes. We operate on a limited capacity on Sunday and Monday; the center is open for pick up and drop off only. A certified instructor is on site 5 days a week. All services are by appointment only.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Cash, Visa and MasterCard. Payment is due when dropping off your dog.

Q: How far in advance do I need to reserve for daycare and boarding?
A: Kennels are booked on a first come, first served basis. To avoid disappointment, book your daycare spot several days in advance. During non-peak periods, try to reserve your boarding spot one week in advance. We’re very busy during peak periods, like Christmas, so book at least one month in advance.

Q: How do we get started with daycare and boarding?
A: The first step is to contact us for more information and to book a tour. Call us at 604-851-6076 or 604-751-2514.

Q: What vaccines are required for my dog?
A: All dogs must have bordatella updated every six months to stay at The Doghouse for daycare or boarding and it must be given 2 weeks before they are dropped off (or before expiry). In addition, all dogs must be vaccinated against distemper, parvovirus, and rabies. We recommend dogs have regular flea and de-worming treatments.

Q: What happens if I am late picking up my dog?
A: Please call and let us know as soon as possible. For overnight stays an extra day will be charged.

Q: What happens if I make a reservation and fail to keep it?
A: Please let us know as soon as your plans change so we can accommodate other dogs.

Q: What do you do if a fight starts?
A: It doesn’t generally happen as playmates are carefully matched during a 15 minute introduction at which time the compatibility of the dogs is observed by a professional trainer.

Q: What should I bring for my dog when dropping him/her off for boarding?
A: A comfort item from home, such as a blanket or toy, and a flat collar. No tennis balls or choke chains please.

Q: What happens if my dog runs out of food during boarding?
A: If a dog’s food runs out while boarding it will be bought (if identifiable) and charged to the owner. Otherwise they will be given our food which is supplied courtesy of Royal Canin.
